In October 2025, with the theme of advancing regional cooperation in ensuring energy security and accelerating decarbonization for a just and inclusive energy transition, ASEAN is moving towards Energy Future 2045, a secure, resilient, and interconnected low-carbon energy future. ACE Executive Director Dato' Ir. Ts. Razib Dawood described APAEC as "the regional blueprint for our energy cooperation."
The philosophy behind the cooperation resonates with our mission at MOYA Analytics on the Global Mitigation Potential Atlas (GMPA). International collaboration should be used to push the boundaries of the energy dilemma, whether that be security, cost, or sustainability. With international collaboration, trade-offs between the three can be abolished. New solutions can be unlocked with simultaneously achieving greater energy security, lower costs, and higher sustainability.
A prominent example is that in the seven program areas for the APAEC, one of them is the ASEAN Power Grid. With interconnectors moving energies in space, the weather barrier in renewable energy can be eliminated. Thus, costs across countries can be saved, a win-win solution for ASEAN.
Stay tuned to MOYA Analytics to start rethinking how collaboration is a door opener for sustainability.
